Artwork

When choosing a medium, my first love is textile goods. My other favorites are charcoal and pastel. In addition, I like to challenge myself to experience new things like working in plein air and spray paint art (all legally done!).

Inspiration

Vibrant colors and dramatic lighting are distinct features in my work; this stems from the inspiration that comes from aspiring to find the beauty in each moment. Often my inspiration is found in those special moments when the light, shadows, shapes, and colors align in a beautiful display.

Marble Falls, TX Plein Air Festival

In the Spring of 2016, I participated in the Marble Falls Plein Air Festival. It was a wonderful experience working alongside experienced artists, and also a wonderful opportunity to chat with the passerby who stopped to ask why I had my easel set up on the sidewalk- and why I was covered in charcoal and pastel. The weekend of creativity ended with a reception, juried show, and live auction. Sadly I did not get a photo of my piece before it was sold, but it is now on display in the Bluebonnet Cafe located in the center of town. Called "Uptown," it is a charcoal piece featuring the iconic Uptown Theatre on Main Street.
